Redemption and specifically “redeemer” refers to an act of someone who has the legal and moral right to buy back or rescue something or someone that has fallen into a state of bondage, captivity, or distress. This concept is often used in both the Old and New Testaments to describe God’s relationship with humanity and His role in saving and restoring individuals and communities.
